Most questions are answered by your community admin, who you can reach from the Help button at the top of any screen in the app. For anything else, write to us.
Who to ask
About your building, your invitation or a post: your community admin. In the app, tap Help at the top of any screen.
About the app, your account or your privacy: the Hallmates team at admin@gethallmates.com. We answer within 2 working days.
Something not working? In the app, go to Settings, then "Report a problem with the app". It comes straight to us.
"Within 2 working days" is my proposal. Confirm the answer time you can keep, and whether admin@gethallmates.com or a separate support@ address should be the public contact.
Common questions
I did not get my sign-in code
Codes come by email from Hallmates (admin@gethallmates.com) and usually arrive within a minute. Check your junk or spam folder. A code works for 10 minutes. If you ask again within a minute, the first code is still the one to use.
Still nothing? Check that you typed the email address your admin invited, then contact your admin.
I lost my invitation code, or it stopped working
Invitation codes work for 14 days and only once. Ask your community admin to send you a new one.
How does my admin know I own my unit?
Your admin checks your name against the association's owner list or the county property record. If the names do not match, the admin may ask for a document such as a deed or a recent association bill. Tenants are confirmed by the unit's owner or a lease.
Who can see my unit number?
Members of your community, unless you choose "Only the board" in Settings, Privacy and safety. People in other communities never see anything about you.
Is a Hallmates poll an official association vote?
No. Polls show what members think, and they can help the board understand owners' views. Official votes follow your association's own rules.
Can I make the text bigger?
Yes. In Settings, choose Large or Largest. The app also follows your phone's own text size, and works in light or dark mode.
Someone is bothering me
Open the conversation, tap ⋯ and choose Block. They will not be told. You can also report the conversation to your admin. If you feel unsafe, call 911.
How do I delete my account?
